The 992 exhibits some evolutions directly in tribute to the original 911 of 1963. Registration – LFR 810N Chassis No. – BFATPA00203 M.O.T. – Exempt Odometer – 19,500 ‘LFR 810N’ is a MKI Ford Escort RS2000 first registered in July 1975. ‘LFR 810N’s’ chassis number, however, reveals a manufacture date of December 1974 and confirms its manufacture in the Advanced Vehicle Operations (AVO) facility located at the Aveley Plant in Essex. In the intervening years ‘LFR810N’ has been thoughtfully modified to, today, present in a “fast road” specification. Modifications noted include a Rocket Type E, straight cut, close ratio four speed gearbox, a Ralloy alloy fuel cell, a bias pedal box, an Ashley exhaust system and manifold, a GP4 steering joint and “World Cup” crossmember. The engine is reported to have been rebuilt in 2016 and this, combined with the aforementioned modifications, results in what the vendor describes as “a really good driving and fun fast road example.” ‘LFR810N’ is offered with an advisory free MOT until June 2025, despite its exempt status, and additional accompanying paperwork and invoices. ‘LFR810N’ looks a delight in its crisp Diamond White livery with accompanying Blue RS decals. The paintwork is believed to date from around 2016 when a colour change from blue to white was registered with the DVLA. This would help explain ‘LFR810N’s’ paint and bodywork condition which the vendor rates as “good” in both cases. The external treatment of ‘LFR810N’ remains admirably faithful to factory specifications with the four spoke RS alloys and RS2000 badging adding to the period faithful presentation. The interior is predominantly black finished with rally style seats up front and an original looking vinyl bench in the rear. A new reproduction dash top roll has been fitted. In original guise the 1993cc Pinto engine was rated at around 100bhp endowing the light and lithe MKI, two door Escort with an 108mph top speed and a 9-second 0-60mph time. The MKI RS2000 was the last car to be produced at the hallowed AVO plant at Aveley. It was an appropriate last hurrah for the AVO team, with the RS2000 combining the performance of the RS1600 but the reliability and ease of maintenance of the Mexico. The RS2000 shared the pressed steel Type 49 body shell of the RS1600 and Mexico endowing it with additional strength and rigidity over the standard MKI Escort. Despite the RS2000 gaining Group 1 homologation, which would have required 5,000 to be built, it is widely thought that only 3,500 left Aveley. With the plant closing its doors in December 1974, ‘LFR810N’ must be one of the last RS2000’s produced at the hallowed plant. With handling famously honed by Lotus, the ‘Midship-Runabout 2-seater’ was a byword for driver-pleasing thrills. The only thing some wanted was a touch more power – but although it was never available here, an MR2 Supercharged version offered in the Japanese and American domestic markets delivered exactly that. With a more potent 145bhp, it also had considerably more torque, making the MR2 feel even livelier. ‘F952 MRA’ is a very alluring MR2 Supercharged indeed, resplendent in oh-so-1980s bright red. Originally from America, this left-hand-drive car has been in the UK for more than 20 years, and has had just one fastidious owner in all that time. Unlike some first-generation Toyota MR2, they have not modified the car at all, so it is highly original and period-correct. The bodywork and paintwork are described as being in ‘excellent’ condition, thanks to what the vendor describes as a ‘90% restoration’. This includes an exterior respray costing £3,500, after £1,500 of welding. The car comes with its logbook and although it has minimal history, the vendor says recent work includes a new timing belt and supercharger belt, and a full engine flush, ahead of both oil and coolant being changed. “It has probably done about six miles since being serviced”. It even has a spare wheel with the original cover. The odometer reads around 82,900km, or around 51,000 miles. Registration – PMO 688 Chassis No. – S824485-BW M.O.T. – Exempt Odometer – 18,000 ‘PMO688’ looks every inch the architype of British sports car royalty in its Old English White livery with Powder Blue interior. ‘PMO688’ has been pampered by just two enthusiastic owners since 1980, the former of which stewarded this iconic car for 38 years between 1980 and 2018. This matching numbers example is offered in the holy trinity of XK specifications, namely - with UK right hand drive provenance; a moss manual gearbox and fixed head coupe configuration. This car’s chassis number reveals it to be an SE model and the 318th of just 583 built to this specification in 1958. The “BW” suffix suggests ‘PMO688’ left Coventry with a Borg Warner automatic transmission fitted. At some point before 1980 this was exchanged for the desirable Moss four speed manual now present. Around 10 years into its previous ownership, in around1990/91, ‘PMO688’ underwent a full, body-off re-build, a high-quality bare-metal respray (with a registered colour change from blue to white), full rust protection and a full engine re-build. This work costed in excess of £15,000 at the time and performed and overseen by 'Classic Specials' of Uckfield. Post restoration ‘PMO688’ was predominantly maintained and cared for by 'J. Murphy Engineering' of East Sussex. In 2015 the previous owner commissioned the fitting of an EZ electric power steering system to further enhance the car’s usability. In 2018 the current owner acquired this beautiful XK150 at auction having covered less than 2,000 miles since. The paperwork archive contains numerous invoices for maintenance and servicing but also many earlier MOT copies. The mileage progression of these would suggest that ‘PMO688’s’ currently recorded mileage of around 18,000 could well be genuine. Whilst clearly an evolution of the earlier, highly regarded XK120 and XK140 models, the XK150 was comprehensively revised as the ultimate expression of the XK lineage. The windscreen was now a single piece, the bonnet wider and the windscreen had moved a full 4 inches forward to aid access. All these revisions can be enjoyed in the flowing lines of ‘PMO688’ together with its cross-spoked, body coloured wire wheels and a modest flash of chromed brightwork. The Powder Blue interior retains a marvellous degree of sought after originality and innate charm. The overall condition of ‘PMO688’ is rated by the vendor as “good” throughout. This reflects in the XK’s mechanical systems, too, with “on the button” starting and strong oil pressure both reported. Opportunities to own such a sweet-spot specification of XK150 are becoming rarer by the day and so ‘PMO688’ offers a truly tantalising ownership opportunity. The “S” carried through many enhancements from the range topping Turbo R, to give the Mulsanne a mid-life glow-up. ‘PJI6757’ showcases these, including the alloy wheels, interior upgrades and sportier handling courtesy of stiffer suspension. ‘PJI6757’ has covered 131,226 miles to date which is moderate for a 37-year old car with what Bentley described as “unstressed” mechanicals. Offered here with NO RESERVE and a detailed and well documented provenance including 18 service stamps and original manuals and book pack. The current MOT is valid until March 2025 to allow for immediate, elegant wafting by the next owner. ‘PJI6757’ holds a category N – non-structural – insurance marker from 2018. Given the regal nature of ‘PJI6757,’ its Georgian Silver livery seems highly appropriate. Whilst ostensibly a rebadged Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit on the SZ platform, ‘PJI6757’ offers plenty of Bentley specific differentiators. First there is big, matrix meshed radiator cowl complete with “flying B” emblem. The 15-inch, “S” specific alloy wheels with big “B” inscribed centre plates also catch the eye, shod as they are with deep 70 profile tyres with subtle white-wall details. The paint and bodywork are rated “average” by the vendor with the bulk of the imperfections being located around the sills and wheel arches. ‘PJI6757’ seems to have been well cared for mechanically, throughout its life. Its mechanical provenance includes a new engine at around 34,500 miles, a conversion to unleaded fuel friendly valve seats in 1991 and a new gearbox and torque converter at 80,000 miles in 1995. Two service books with a total of 18 stamps between them and lots of supporting bills and invoices also bodes well for ‘PJI6757’s’ mechanical condition. The spacious, leather clad, Oyster hued cabin seems to have lost none of its “special occasion” grandeur for which the marque is known. Just the right level of patina appears to grace the commodious and well padded seats and accompanying contrasting piping. Deep lambswool rugs are present, except for the driver’s footwell where it is noted that the carpet is worn through in places. Surely this represents an enticing opportunity to acquire an honest and delightful Bentley at a merest fraction of its original £90,000 plus cost. Its chassis number reveals it to be just 216 cars from the last right hand drive example produced. As such ‘YNP14G’ represents the final, facelifted iteration of this luxury sports saloon with its slimline bumpers, overriders and padded dash top roll. Essentially a rebadged MKII Jaguar, the 2.5 V8 as it was known at launch in1962, became the first Daimler to be offered on Jaguar underpinnings and the last to feature a Daimler engine. And what an engine. ‘YNP14G’ is fitted with the highly prized 2.5-litre V8, Edward Turner designed powerplant mated to a three speed Borg Warner type D1/D2 automatic transmission. Presenting today with a sensible, seemingly genuine 72,964 miles recorded, with less than 2,000 of those added since 2018. ‘YNP14G’ has been the subject of a thorough restoration a little over 10 years ago. This included professionally stripping and respraying the body shell. A replacement gearbox was fitted in 1978, a stainless steel exhaust installed around 4,000 miles ago together with the power steering system being reconditioned, and a new prop shaft bearing fitted. The front brakes were overhauled at the same time, while the rear brakes were replaced around 1,000 miles ago. In the last few months two new rear tyres have been fitted, a service with new engine oil and filter has been undertaken and a modern, spin-on oil filter conversion performed. All wheel arches have been cleaned and re-undersealed as a precautionary measure. ‘YNP14G’ is offered complete with an extensive file of provenance providing paperwork, which includes original handbooks and radio operating instructions as well as the service book with a full 28 stamps inside. All the old MOTs are included, as are the original Daimler documents with service chart. ‘YNP14G’ presents very well in the charming period hue of Ascot Fawn. This together with just the right amount of chrome brightwork, the signature Daimler fluted radiator cowl and the distinctive “partial spats” at the rear ensure that this Daimler saloon remains a real head turner today. The interior is veritable sea of crimson, box pleated leathers, walnut veneers, chromed fittings and sumptuous wool carpeting. A 1976 car, the 1.8-litre B-Series engine is paired with a four-speed gearbox featuring Overdrive. Work carried out by the previous owner incudes a stainless steel exhaust, new fuel tank and digital fuel pump, plus bodywork including front and rear skirt panels. A highly authentic example, it boasts the original teledial alloy wheels which present very well indeed. This is testament to meticulous servicing throughout its life; the vendor reports it has a fully stamped-up service book from new. “It has a lot of paperwork from the previous owners – for example, back in 2010, someone spent £2,700 recommissioning it.” During their ownership, they have carefully maintained it, with annual services and MOTs – and the car will be sold with a fresh 12-month MOT. ‘F229RGS’ has in the past six weeks, been fitted with a new clutch slave cylinder, new cooling fan and new starter motor to prepare it for sale. It continued to use the 924’s transaxle setup, and was constantly developed throughout its lifetime, including the arrival in 1985 of a much more contemporary and premium-feeling interior. The engine was enlarged to 2.7 litres and, later, 3.0-litres, and it was also turbocharged. Its popularity saw Porsche produce more than 163,000 944 by the time it was replaced by the 968 in 1991. With light use, amounting to just 8,884 miles in 12 years, ‘LB13JGV’ underscores Ducati’s hard won reputation for producing the ultimate in performance motorcycles. Acquired by the vendor in September 2022, ‘LB13JGV’ has been subject to some well chosen mechanical upgrades. These include a Termignoni exhaust, Maxton rear shock absorber, upgraded levers, rests, handlebars and buttons. The 90° V-twin engine has an extreme 106mm x 67.9mm bore and stroke measurement and revs to high-heaven, thanks to its desmodromic valve system, which is operated via low maintenence chains, instead of belts. The engine features a decompression device, which allows for a smaller, lighter starter motor and battery. The Panigale offered a ride-by-wire throttle system for the first time. Other premium accoutrements include Brembo monobloc brakes, traction control, riding modes, magnesium and titanium engine parts, and a TFT multi-function dash. As powerful as it is good looking, this unit was originally rated at 385 bhp at a sonorous 7,000 rpm.’V8 URJ’ comes with the purists’ choice of traditional six-speed manual gearbox and its accompanying three pedals. The vendor imported it from Japan in 2015, giving it a full bare metal respray in 2017, where all panels were removed and undersealed. And that’s not all; this expert build features lots of rare Japanese parts as part of its custom creation – and at one point, it was the only road-going NSX in Europe with independent throttle bodies (from Toda Racing). The Sherpa T was designed specifically for observable trails and this example appears to be a fine exemplar of the specialised breed. It exhibits all the traits of a successful trails bike including a high frame height, diminutive form factor, narrow, pinched-in middle section and vestigial saddle which would be sparing used, if at all, in competition. This Sherpa would be the perfect motorcycle to campaign in increasingly popular and numerous classic trials events and should prove eligible for the “Twin Shock” class. Although reportedly not used for around two years the Sherpa is accompanied with some earlier paperwork documenting maintenance work undertaken. Naturally enough this Sherpa T250 offers little in the way of……anything really! The focussed design was all about light weight, balance, durability and manoeuvrability. The bodywork such as it is, is mainly plastic and there is no superfluous instrumentation, lights or other fripperies to get tangled up or snapped off. What is here, however, looks very well preserved considering the purpose of this motorcycle. Those in the trails riding fraternity favour Bultaco machines for their tractable engines, light but robust construction and, importantly, decent availability of spare parts. With the Sherpa T model coming in both 250 and 350cc flavours, it is the smaller displacement machine as offered here which seems most desired. With a usefully lighter weight than its sibling it loses little in terms of torque or tractability by comparison. Bultaco would continue to make a range of competition motorcycles up until 1983, with various iterations of the Sherpa being produced for over 20 years. The coilover suspension and aftermarket exhaust system are the only reported non-standard features. With six owners to date, and a sensible 85,000 miles covered to date, the provenance of this example is truly hard to fault. Add in ‘SV11JFZ’s’ current advisory free MOT until October 2025, its service book complete with 14 stamps and the fact that this model was this remarkable car’s last hurrah, and it becomes clear that this EVO X is quite the find. The Lancer EVO X was launched in March 2008 in the UK to become the tenth and last iteration of Mitsubishi’s rally bred, high specification uber-saloon. The EVO X carried the family car with rally winning performance ethos to new levels. Mitsubishi UK took the “standard” 276 bhp Japanese produced EVO and produced a sub-range of more powerful versions better suited to the UK’s appetite for even more dramatic performance. ‘SV11JFZ’ represents the entry level of the UK specials in GSR FQ-300 form. Power was up to an impressive 291 bhp at 6,500 rpm together with 300 lb ft of torque at just 3,500 rpm. Despite being the baby of the UK range, this was enough for a sub-five second 0-60mph time and 150 mph plus top speed. The EVO X’s raft of trick electronics nestling under Mitsubishi’s Super All-Wheel Control banner (S-AWC) mean the ability to deploy more power more of the time was optimised. With most cars featuring the TC-SST automatic transmission, it is exciting to learn of ‘SV11JFZ’s’ five speed manual specification. The two months of ‘FN04FGU’s’ first ownership is quite possibly the supplying dealer registering it as a demonstrator. Then follows an ownership period of almost 19 years. The current keeper acquired ‘FN04FGU’ in March 2023 at around 32,300 miles. ‘FN04FGU’ hails from the first year of Roadster production and is fitted with the “5EAT” Jatco five speed automatic transmission. This combined with the electric hood, which folds in just 20 seconds, makes ‘FN04FGU’ the perfect boulevard cruiser, whist still offering plenty of bite from the 276bhp 3.5 litre V6 engine. The paint was inspired by the Red Bull F1 racers, with further graphics at the rear and side to underline the connection. The last MOT was undertaken in April 2020 and ‘D73 KNB’ has not turned a wheel since but has been garage stored throughout its current ownership. Offered here with NO RESERVE and complete with numerous bills, invoices and original manuals. ‘D73 KNB’ has a category C insurance marker listed against it dating from January 1997. As essentially a “Porschificaton” of the Volkswagen derived 924, the 944 went on to be the marque’s most successful car until the advent of the Boxster. Gone was the 2-litre VW engine in favour of a home grown 2.5 litre unit. ‘D73 KNB’ exhibits the muscular front and rear haunches that added some welcome road presence to the mix. With the body and paintwork vendor rated as “good,” some room for improvement is noted. There are a few areas of bubbling paintwork here and there but nothing out of kilter with ‘D73 KNB’s’ age and mileage. The 7J x 16-inch seven spoke alloys are finished in body colour and exhibit a little lacquer deterioration in places. The sports orientated cabin mixes elements of the original brown pinstriped upholstery with some later additions. A pair of rally style front seats have been fitted and are finished in red and black fabric. An aftermarket, three spoke SELM steering wheel is also fitted along with a contemporary Sony head unit. The rest is standard 944 fare and looks to be in a good, overall condition. An electric and removeable steel roof panel is present as are electric windows and exterior mirrors. The key differentiator between the 924 and 944 was the latter’s Porsche developed and produced M44/40 2.5 litre inline four cylinder engine. Its 160bhp was a welcome trade up from the 924’s 125bhp and the unit was notably more refined, too. A French-registered car, this 1.3-litre four-door saloon has been freshly imported into the UK, and has not yet been registered. While a NOVA certificate has yet to be applied for, the left-hand drive car comes with plenty of paperwork, including a recent French MOT which lists no advisories. The vendor says this is a Ford Escort in very good condition throughout – tantalisingly, they describe it as rust-free, and confirm it even comes with two keys. What’s even more interesting is the car’s rally-prep appearance. Raleurs Racing Team is a French firm that allows enthusiasts to compete in historic events using period cars. This Escort appears to have been one of those models, with preparation including bucket seats, a stripped-back interior, even an ultra-powerful LED front light bar. The car is also fitted with a collectable ATB VH Trip rally computer. However, otherwise, this Escort appears to be largely standard, and doesn’t feature intrusive modifications such as a roll cage. It became the first V8 powered car from the marque, as well as the first front engined model. This example started its life in South Africa, renowned for its benign and preservative, car friendly climate. This W123 was imported to the UK last year and has not yet been UK registered. At over 40 years old this W123 qualifies for Historic Vehicle status and, as such, will be MOT exempt and zero rated for vehicle excise duty. The overall condition of this W123 is vendor rated as “good,” with only the transmission getting an “average” rating. The W123 comes complete with original books and manuals, ample paperwork, spare wheel, tools, jack and two keys. The Mercedes has covered 192,465 kilometres to date, or around 119,500 miles. Audi had a habit of throwing everything at their RS4 models and ‘R444AVT’ is no exception. It features the howling, 32 valve 4.2 litre engine as originally used in the R8 which delivered a mighty 444bhp in this application. Well chosen, non-standard enhancements include a Capristo stainless steel sports exhaust system with Darkside Developments non-resonated downpipes. BBS MTM Bi Moto alloy wheels are also fitted. The vendor has owned ‘R444AVT’ for around three and a half years adding around 12,000 miles in their ownership to bring today’s total to around 74,000. ‘R444AVT’ is offered with original book pack and stamped service book. It was a different beast, however, and this time the range was topped with the smallest Renaultsport car the firm produced – the Twingo RS133. ‘RJ61DVB’ dates from the end of 2011 and so escapes the somewhat fussy looking 2012 facelift. ‘RJ61DVB’ has undergone some performance modifications to present very well and in a highly individualised way. These include aftermarket alloy wheels, lowered suspension and new headlamps. Despite hailing from 1989, a full six years into the Golf MKII’s reign, ‘F42SOR’ is based on the niche defining MKI Golf of 1974 with a MKII Cabriolet never being developed. ‘F42SOR’ was acquired by its vendor in September 2023 when he became the GTi’s eighth keeper. MOT records reveal that ‘F42SOR’ has been very lightly used since 2011 with only 1,831 miles separating 2011’s MOT from the current advisory free test dating from 16th January 2025. As early as 1976, just 2 years after the car’s launch, Karmann were showing Volkswagen their Golf Cabriolet concept. Registration – DJO2 16N Chassis No. – TBC M.O.T. – Exempt Odometer – 34,000 The Honda CB550 was released in 1974 and helped the firm cement its place as purveyors of choice of extremely accomplished compact, mid-range motorcycles. Fans of TV motorcycling shows may well recognise ‘DJO216N,’ as the star of a 2017 Motorcycle Show episode. Bike guru and show host, Henry Cole, undertook a full restoration of ‘DJO216N,’ subsequently retaining it in his collection for around four years. The restoration delivered a pristine motorcycle from what was already a nicely preserved example. Works included an engine rebuild, powder coated frame, new tyres and the re-chroming of the brightwork. Offered here by its current keeper, ‘DJO216N’ is still described as “in stunning condition,” and “mechanically perfect.” With ‘DJO216N’ originating from Ireland, it comes complete with its old, buff logbook, a copy of an earlier V5, featuring Mr Cole’s name, and ample other documentation. Here is a rare chance to own a pristine CB550 with some added celebrity provenance included. ‘DJO216N’ features a charming, archetypal 70’s livery of Candy Garnet Brown with red and gold accents and decals. Being a 1977 model, ‘DJO216N’ has the much less fussy single, low slung exhaust pipe, lending the motorcycle a purposeful and aesthetically refined persona. The ample brightwork adds just the right amount of bling to proceedings with the CB550 offering a comfortable upright riding position. The cross spoked wheels wear recently new tyres making ‘DJO216N’ not just a guaranteed head turner but also a motorcycle that is ready to use and enjoy immediately. Unsurprisingly, given ‘DJO216N’s’dilligently restored past, the vendor rates all aspects of the motorcycle as “excellent.” The heart of the CB550 is the 544cc four cylinder, four stroke, eight valve SOHC transversely mounted engine. Originally good for around 50bhp, this provided the CB550 with reliably genuine 100mph top speed, good tractability and the smoothness that only a four cylinder can offer. This proved to be a durable unit, too, with regular maintenance surprisingly high mileages can easily be achieved. With a comfortable, commodious saddle, ample room for a pillion and a five speed closely stacked gearbox, the CB550 really was the first of the highly accomplished Japanese all-rounders. Registration – 535 XUP Chassis No. – CAPR12295 M.O.T. – Exempt Odometer – TBC ‘535XUP’ is a charming example of the 350cc, single-cylinder Red Hunter haling from 1958. With the Red Hunter model line stretching all the way back to 1932, ‘535XUP’ represents a later iteration from the penultimate year of production. Offered here from a seventeen year period of long term ownership. The previous keeper retained the Red Hunter for nearly twenty years with the two before that spanning the first 30 years or so of the Ariel. ‘535XUP’ offers a fine degree of 1950’s originality, with just some more recent repainting and contemporary road tyres being noted as the main exceptions. Complete with numerous earlier MOT copies and an Ariel owners guide, ‘535XUP’ is classified as an Historic Vehicle and so zero rated for vehicle excise duty and MOT exempt in the UK. Offered with NO RESERVE, ‘535XUP’ represents an enticing ownership proposition. ‘535XUP’ exhibits the eye catching red livery usually associated with the Red Hunter model. The darker of the hues seen on the front forks and the instrument binnacle is more in keeping with the factory shade, with the brighter red likely a later addition. ‘535XUP’ is awash with 1950’s styling cues including the wrap over mudguards, rubber, tank mounted knee pads and low, generous pillion saddle. ‘535XUP’ features the optional 120mph Smiths speedometer together with Lucas ammeter and Bakelite ignition switch. The polished alloy engine exhibits the late model refinements of an alloy cylinder head and a fully enclosed push rod tunnel top end. The current owner considers the mechanical condition of ‘535XUP’ to be “excellent,” with the remainder rated as “good.” Ariel Motorcycles of Birmingham was a mainstay of the British motorcycle industry for nearly 70 years. From the early 1930’s, the Red Hunter represented the sports model in the range being offered with both sporting and touring trim options and single or twin port engines. This model was even the basis for the WD/NG motorcycle supplied to the Allied forces for the Second World War with over 47,000 ultimately supplied. Post-war the Red Hunter range was re-introduced and became the first Ariel to feature telescopic forks.
